Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov took part in anniversary conference of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister’s official website. International conference called Promotion of investments for modernization of economy. New realms is timed to the 10th anniversary of the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. At the opening of the conference Prime-Minister read a greeting to its participants on behalf of Nursultan Nazarbayev. “In May 2001 Kazakhstan government established the Development Bank of Kazakhstan under my instruction. Today, prior to the 20th anniversary of Kazakhstan’s independence, the Development Bank of Kazakhstan is celebrating the 10th anniversary of its establishment. Looking 10 years back, major work has been done and its results are already seen,” Kazakhstan President said. The President emphasized that such projects like Aktau, Moinak hydro power station, Atyrau oil refinery, gas-chemical complex, metallurgical plants in Taraz and Pavlodar and many other projects constituting the foundation of Kazakhstan’s economy were financed thanks to the Development Bank of Kazakhstan. “The Bank is acknowledged by foreign financial organizations and investors, it demonstrates attractiveness of Kazakhstan's business climate and promotes investment inflow into processing and infrastructure sectors of our country,” Nursultan Nazarbayev noted. As per Nursultan Nazarbayev, the bank kept financing the country’s economy during the crisis. “There were successes and mistakes during these 10 years, lessons should be learnt from them to keep up further progressive development. I am sure that today’s conference, attended by leading international experts, becomes a platform for interesting discussions about all current issues of industrial Kazakhstan and recommendations on further development,” the President’s address said.
