Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev instructed the government to submit suggestions on reforming the management system of KazMunaiGas, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the President’s service. The President gave instructions at the meeting on Zhanaozen clashes held in Aktau with participation of the oblast administration, community leaders and representatives of the employees of the oil companies. The government was also instructed to investigate into the clashes-related actions of the authorized law enforcement structures and KazMunaiGas company and submit suggestions on punishments. Nazarbayev noted that the government and Samruk-Kazyna National Welfare Fund had to make decisions on giving a legal entity status to the structural divisions of KazMunaiGas National Company. “This is required to let them quickly resolve the social issues of their employees,” the press-services message stated. Top management has been reshuffled in KazMunaiGas. Alik Aidarbayev, former chairman of the board became Director General of EP KMG. He replaced Askar Balzhanov. Former Vice Minister of Oil and Gas Lyazzat Kiinov was appointed chairman and member of the board of KazMunaiGas National Company. He replaced Bolat Akchulakov.
