At today’s Parliament sitting Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev stated the Parliament should focus on preventing possible negative challenges to the national economy and security, a Tengrinews.kz journalist reports.
“Dear members of the Parliament, the new session starts against the backdrop of the global economy uncertainty, deepening geopolitical risks, including those related to aggravated international relations over the developments in Ukraine. Reciprocal sanctions imposed by countries responsible for a total of 60% of the global GDP entail substantial adjustments and changes to long-established economic ties. This leads to a slowdown of partner economies, having a certain effect on us”, President said when opening the IV session of the country’s Parliament.
“It is of paramount importance to prevent any possible negative challenges to the national economy, people’s welfare, the country’s security. This is the task I set for the Government to accomplish. To effectively take advantage of the current opportunities, the Parliament and the Government should concert their efforts. One of the major goals is to ensure Kazakhstan enters the club of 30 most developed nations of the world”, he said.
