The 47th meeting of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) will be held next year in Astana, the capital of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the press-service of Kazakhstan Ministry of Economy and Budget Planning. According to the press-service, India officially transferred to Kazakhstan the status of the chairing country of the ADB board of governors in 2014 at the annual meeting. “Delivering a report, Kazakhstan Minister of Economy and Budget Planning Yerbolat Dossayev presented Kazakhstan’s economic and investment potential. "ADB President Takehiko Nakao said that the decision on holding the next meeting in Astana was unanimous. All 67 member countries voted for it,” the message says. According to the preliminary calculations, ADB meeting in Astana called New Silk Road Binding Asia and Europe in the Changing World will be attended by around 5 thousand people, including governors from ADB member-countries and managers of major international banks and financial organizations. ADB meeting in Astana is scheduled for May 2-3, 2014.
