Kazakhstan is ready to host the forthcoming round of talks of the Six (Russia, China, Germany, France, the U.S. and U.K) with Iran to settle issues related to Iran’s nuclear programme, the joint statement issued by Kazakhstan’s Foreign Minister Yerlan Idrissov and US Secretary of State John Kerry following their talks December 10 reads, Russia’s RIA Novosti reports.

“Kazakhstan has expressed its willingness to host the forthcoming round of talks of the Six and Iran on the latter's nuclear programme and is calling all the sides involved to keep on constructive consultations with a view of coming to a comprehensive agreement in 2015”, the statement reads.
Besides, the statement emphasizes that the USA appreciates the open dialogue with Kazakhstan on the crisis in Ukraine, welcomes Astana’s contribution to the work of an ad-hoc OSCE monitoring mission in Ukraine, and Kazakhstan’s commitment to facilitate economic assistance to Ukraine.
The USA stated that it welcomed Kazakhstan’s leading role in ensuring safety and security in Afghanistan and Central Asia. In particular, Kazakhstan contributed to construction of four bridges in Samagan province and invested into infrastructure of the region, notably the Kazakhstan-Turkmenistan railway to the Caspian Sea port in Aktau.
