Shareholder of the Eurasian Natural Resources Corporation (ENRC) Aleksander Mashkevich suggests to start training project managers in Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports. “Kazakhstan’s project managers have to have all the required knowledge. This has to be a rule. Practical implementation of several recent ENRC projects showed that there is a gap in personnel training: we have an acute shortage of project management professionals. It is absolutely necessity to train local personnel in this specific area,” Mashkevich said at the meeting of Kazakhstan President’s Foreign Investors Council. “It is not enough to find and apply a technology” to make a project successful. It is important to effective work of the new company and its independence from import of spare part and materials. Technology transfer centers could be used to support businesses, he said. Alexander Mashkevich is a businessman and investor who has major holdings and close political relationships in Kazakhstan.
