Kazakhstan is ready to hold negotiations on Ukrainian crisis on January 15-16 or any other time convenient for the parties involved, Tengrinews reports citing the official website of Kazakhstan’s President Nursultan Nazarbayev.

During Nazarbayev’s official visit to Ukraine and Russia in mid-December, the sides discussed the possible options to settle the crisis in Ukraine. After these meetings, Nursultan Nazarbayev also dwelt on the same topic during phone conversation with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, President of France Francois Hollande and German Chancellor Angela Merkel.

As a result of the negotiations with Poroshenko and Putin, the possibility to hold the meeting of Putin and Poroshenko in Astana with the participation of Merkel and Hollande emerged on the agenda.

Recently, during the press conference in Kiev, Poroshenko told the journalists that the meeting in Norman format (Norman format refers to the meeting of Russian President, Chancellor of Germany, presidents of France and Ukraine) was scheduled for January 15 in Astana. However, neither German government nor French one confirmed this information so far.

Meanwhile, Kazakhstan expressed its readiness to serve as a platform for negotiations on January 15-16 or any other time convenient for the sides.
