The Embassy of Kazakhstan in Finland could start operating this year, Tengrinews.kz reports, quoting Kimmo Kiljunen, OSCE Parliamentary Assembly representative in Central Asia. “Finland is happy to welcome the Embassy of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Helsinki and it may happen this year. It will be for the first time,” Kimmo Kiljunen said after the meeting with Yerzhan Kazykhanov, head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. According to him the parties have discussed Majilis and Maslikhat elections. The OSCE PA’s representative said that it is vital to hold these elections in a well-organized manner. “We have discussed the issue of a possible governmental change and the political situation related to the Majilis elections. We have also talked about Zhanaozen. It was essential for us to know that the investigation of the causes of the clashes is underway in the region. It is clear that the situation is stable there now,” he said.
