Kazakhstan and Slovenia sign agreements on tourism, education, and trade

During the meeting, members of the official delegations exchanged the following documents:

  • A memorandum of understanding between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Science and Higher Education and Slovenia’s Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation in the field of education and science.
  • A memorandum of understanding between Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Tourism and Sports and Slovenia’s Ministry of Economy, Tourism, and Sports on cooperation in the tourism sector.
  • A memorandum of understanding between the Foreign Trade Chamber of Kazakhstan and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia.

According to Akorda’s press service, direct Slovenian investments in Kazakhstan have reached nearly $200 million. Currently, 19 companies with Slovenian capital operate successfully in Kazakhstan, focusing on sectors such as pharmaceuticals, engineering, telecommunications, and renewable energy.

On March 31, President Tokayev welcomed the Slovenian delegation and reaffirmed Kazakhstan’s commitment to developing mutually beneficial cooperation with Slovenia, calling it a time-tested and reliable partner in Europe.

“The signed agreements will give a new impetus to our cooperation and open opportunities for joint projects in education, tourism, and trade,” said Tokayev.

The agreements are expected to pave the way for stronger ties between the two countries, fostering collaboration across various key sectors.
