On November 21 Kazakhstan Prime-Minister Karim Massimov met with heads of Eurasian media as part of the 4th Forum of European and Asian Media FEAM-2011 that has opened in Astana, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Prime-Minister's official website. At the meeting the Prime-Minister and heads of several media outlets of Russia, Ukraine, Belarus, Latvia, Armenia and Azerbaijan exchanged opinions on development of media-space and discussed modern media trends. Karim Massimov replied to the journalists' questions upon completion of the meeting. Over 250 representatives of CIS (Commonwealth of Independent States), the Baltics and Georgia, including heads of media agencies and top managers of post-Soviet media industry, experts and analysts, as well as representatives of state authorities of Russia and Kazakhstan are taking part in the forum. The main topics of FEAM-2011 are mass media's functioning amid the quickly developing information technologies and the challenges faced by the media in the modern world. Besides, the forum also focus on prospects of development of economic interstate unions. The Forum includes plenary and sectional meetings, round-table discussions and sessions. One of the plenary meetings is called Kazakhstan economy: 20 years of achievements, looking into the future”. There are also special sessions on the consequences of emergence of social networks, media industry amid unstable economies, specifics of national media models. The Forum is organized by RIA Novosti media holding. It is taking place in Astana on November 21-22.
