Kazakhstan Senate speaker and head of the secretariat of the Congress of Leaders of World and Traditional Religions Kairat Mami will render a visit to Vatican on February 5-7, Tengrinews.kz reports citing the official representative of Kazakhstan President’s Central Communications Service Altai Abibullayev. “Senate chairman and head of the secretariat of the Congress of World and Traditional Religions Kairat Mami will arrive to Vatican on a working visit on February 5-7 upon the President’s instruction. The visit will include an audience with the Pope Benedict XVI and other meetings with high-ranking representatives of Vatican,” Abibullayev said. He noted that the parties were planning to discuss major achievements of the 20-year cooperation between Kazakhstan and Vatican. Last September Kazakhstan ratified the Agreement on relations with Vatican aimed at ensuring observance of Kazakhstan’s legislation by the Roman-Catholic church’s institutions in Kazakhstan in terms of registration and re-registration of the religious institutions.
