President Nazarbayev has participated in the celebration of the Holiday of Nations Unity in Astana, Tengrinews reports citing Akorda, the official presidential website.
The President met Astana folks and guests of the capital on the square in front of the Kazakh Eli monument.
Nazarbayev also visited the ethnic village and looked around ethnic tents that displayed a great variety of art, national clothing, musical instruments and craft of different nations.

In his congratulatory speech, the President emphasized the importance of unity for Kazakhstan's prosperity.
“If a family is united, it will be strong. If a company is not united, it will not prosper. And if a country is not united, it will just crumble. That is why unity is at core of our statehood. There are many different ethnic groups living in Kazakhstan and the unity of us all is the foundation of peace in our country. When people live in peace and harmony, it is real happiness. It is impossible to be happy alone; wellbeing depends on the condition of the whole nation. That is why we have to cherish the unity and harmony that we have reached in Kazakhstan and pass it to our children,” Nazarbayev said.
The Head of the State urged everyone to work hard for their happiness.
“A person making things with his hands is a hardworking person. A person working with his and head is a master. And a person working with his hands, head and heart is an artist. Everything that comes with hard work brings happiness. We work hard together to develop and make our country better. Thanks to that our children can look into the future with confidence,” the President said.
