President Nazarbayev has congratulated Kazakhstanis on the spring holiday Nauryz, Tengrinews reports. “I wish a Happy Nauryz to all the Kazakhstanis. It has being celebrated by many nations for over five thousand years. The holiday is a symbol of unity, brotherhood, tolerance and stability. That is exactly the idea Kazakhstan follows. We have been living by this idea for 22 years of our independence, ” the President said at the celebration in Astana. President Nazarbayev added that there are more than 140 ethnicities and people of 40 different religious denominations living peacefully in Kazakhstan. “We all are equal in Kazakhstan. There should not be anyone mistreated due to his or her nationality, language or religion. We are equal. We have the same homeland, same goals and objectives. Kazakhstan flourishes thanks to the unity of ideas (…), ” Nazarbayev said. The Head of the State emphasized that in these turbulent times “peace is fragile and complex”. “Every year there are 30 armed conflicts happening elsewhere with thousands of people dying. 800 million people are suffering from hunger. 400 million people do not have access clean water. 40 million children are dying from hunger. Peace became fragile like a glass that can be broken by a movement of a hand. Everything we have can be suddenly destroyed,” he added. But despite the turbulent times, there are new enterprises built and opened in Kazakhstan to create new jobs and higher salaries. The President reminded that pensions would be raised. In 2016 pensions will be raised by 25-40%. He concluded by saying that peace in Kazakhstan is a result of the unity of all the Kazakhstanis. The celebration of the Nauryz holiday has brought many folks in Almaty and other cities together. Different festivals are being held throughout the country during these three days.
