Former deputy Justice Minister of Kazakhstan Amirkhan Amanbayev has been appointed head of Almaty Department for Countering Economic and Corruption Crimes (financial police), Interfax-Kazakhstan writes.
The new head was introduced to the personnel in the end of last week.
Amirkhan Amanbayev, 52, was released from his position of Vice-Minister last Friday because of a transfer to another job.
Earlier Tengrinews.kz English reported that former head of Almaty financial police Maksat Duissenov was dismissed after his subordinate was apprehended for bribery.
