The Constitution has become a firm foundation for successful development of Kazakhstan, Tengrinews.kz reports citing Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev's welcoming message read out at the international scientific-research conference timed to the Constitution Day. “I congratulate you with all my heart on one of the major holidays of Kazakhstan, the Constitution Day! Constitution is the firm foundation of the successful development of our country. Thanks to the Constitution, Kazakhstan’s economy is developing in line with the principles of equality of state and private property, freedom of entrepreneurship and property use for the benefit of the society,” Secretary of State Marat Tazhin read the President’s address. The Constitution of Kazakhstan, as such of a social state, guarantees the right to freedom of labor, provides state protection of family, maternity, fraternity and childhood and protects people’s health, the message said. According to Nazarbayev, the country’s main law has become a foundation of unity of the state authorities and efficient interaction of all their branches. “The Constitution provides for close interaction of the state and the growing institutes of the civil society. Local self-government is developing, which is certified by the first elections of local Akims (Governors) in the history of independent Kazakhstan,” Nazarbayev said in the message. Kazakhstan is currently implementing the 2050 Strategy aimed at making Kazakhstan one of the top 30 most developed countries of the world. This work requires unconditional abidance to the Constitution and the laws, he added.
