Afghanistan War Veterans Union in Atyrau oblast offered aid to law-enforcement authorities in relation to recent explosions, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. The veterans stated their preparedness to patrol the streets, in case of necessity. “Today, when somebody is trying to interfere with our peaceful happy life once again and thrust hostility and distrust between the residents of our country, we cannot keep silent and stand aside. We still have clear memories of what we had to face in our life. We will not let our children and grandchildren experience such horror,” the Union addressed law-enforcement authorities. The veterans noted that "Afghan soldiers" have the needed military experience, strength and desire to preserve security of Atyrau residents.Earlier

Tengrinews.kz English reported that two explosions happened in Atyrau in the morning of October 31. The first blast was in a garbage can at Kulmanov street. Later an man blew himself up in Saryarka region. Islamic group Djund Al-Khalifat (Soldiers of Khalifat) claimed responsibility for both explosions.
