Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev has instructed the government to take immediate action to resolve key problems in the aviation fuel sector, Akorda reported following a meeting on the development of regional air cargo hubs.
According to the Head of State, the industry is constrained by two major challenges: high fuel prices and insufficient domestic production volumes.
He emphasized that Kazakhstan must increase internal output over the next three years while diversifying imported supplies.
“Reasonable competition must be maintained. All regulatory changes should be implemented gradually and in a targeted manner, without disrupting the stability of fuel deliveries,” Tokayev noted.
The President also stated that the next step will be the establishment of an aviation research institute and fuel certification laboratories based on existing organizations.
Tokayev instructed the government and antimonopoly authorities to “take urgent and comprehensive measures” to address these issues.
