Kazakhstan plans to explore Chinese experience in tourism, Tengrinews reports citing Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister Karim Massimov as saying during his yesterday's meeting with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang.

“Kazakhstan will host the EXPO in 2017 and a year of Chinese tourism in Kazakhstan will be held in 2017 as well. Therefore, it is very important to explore the experience of China in the development of tourism. Today I offered to the Premier (of China) that we would send our delegation (to China) to study how the conditions for development of tourism were created in China and then use the experience in Kazakhstan to facilitate the inflow of tourists, including Chinese tourists,” Karim Massimov said emphasizing that mutual visits would be useful for both countries.

At the talks with the Chinese Premier who arrived in Astana on an official visit on December 14, the two ranking officials dwelt on the key issues of trade , investments, energy and transport cooperation between the two nations. They also exchanged opinions on acute issues on the international agenda. An important outcome of the meeting was the signing of agreements worth $14 billion in a wide range of areas.

The two PMs also expressed the countries’ intention to further expand and deepen the bilateral cooperation between China and Kazakhstan. “There is a vast potential yet to be unleashed in our trade and humanitarian cooperation (…) Amid the global economic uncertainty our nations should rely on their friendship to have large-scaled tasks accomplished to the benefit of their people (…) we have common interests and issues to work on. A creative approach is required to implement specific projects and contribute to the so-called Kazakh and Chinese Dreams. A great job has been done over the recent years,” Kazakh PM Massimov said.

The same day, Karim Massimov and Li Keqiang attended the second sitting of the Kazakh-Chinese Business Council.
