Kazakhstan’s Secretary of State Adilbek Dzhaksybekov has received letters of credence from ambassadors of 11 countries, Tengrinews reports.
Among the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassadors to Kazakhstan were diplomats from Guatemala, Ireland, Moldova, Slovenia, Namibia, Singapore, Iceland, Brunei Darussalam, Argentina, Algeria and Columbia. The state and development of bilateral relations between the countries was discussed during the meeting between the Secretary of State and ambassadors.
“I am glad to be here for several reasons. One of the reasons is that I will be the first ambassador from Latin America in Kazakhstan and I will represent my country – Guatemala. Diplomatic relations between our countries started back in 2011. I hope that with my work these relations will deepen and strengthen. We hope for a successful cooperation and in particular during the EXPO-2017,” Guatemalan Ambassador to Kazakhstan Herbert Estuardo Meneses said.
Namibia’s ambassador Ndali Che Kamati expressed his wish to strengthen the relations between the countries in trade and economy. “Kazakhstan is a country rich with mineral resources and a major producer of energy. (...) Namibia has a problem in the energy sphere. Kazakhstan has enough oil and gas. We hope to cooperate in these areas, because we need reliable suppliers of these two components,” the ambassador said. He added that another priority aspect to the bilateral relations was to develop tourism. “One of my goals is to invite Kazakhstanis to Namibia to take safari tours,” he said.
The Ambassador from Singapore Zulkifli bin Baharudin spoke about a similarity between his country and Kazakhstan. “We share the same world view and we, too, are a young country. The only difference is the size, Singapore is much smaller than Kazakhstan. After meeting all the members of the government, I have a feeling that people working for you are passionate about making a difference for the country and the people. I think, for the upcoming years you have a good governmental strategy. It is a truly great thing. I see many Kazakhstanis travelling around the world. This gives them some additional international experience. We are a country that shares your values. People in Singapore, too, are ready to learn from the best and share their experience. We do not want to be on the receiving end in this relationship only. We hope for a long term and secure cooperation in many key aspects,” the diplomat said.
