The popular video has garnered a thousand shares and over a hundred comments, with users expressing their admiration and dreams of learning to snowboard as skillfully.
“Take me with you,” “How much do night rides cost?” “So cool, now I want to try it too,” users wrote in awe.
Almabek Abdimukanov, born and raised in Almaty, dreamed of snowboarding since childhood. However, due to health issues, he was only able to start riding two years ago. He filmed the video on November 30. The young man is currently a third-year university student in the city.
“I wanted to show how amazing snowboarding can be—it’s such an atmospheric experience. I film myself using a small camera. I’m happy my dream came true and grateful to my parents for their support, though they always remind me to stay safe. For beginners, I recommend starting on easy slopes,” shared Almabek.
The resort’s press office provided information about the schedule for night rides. When asked about the approximate number of people allowed per session, they responded:
“We don’t have a fixed limit (aside from weather-related restrictions to ensure guest safety), but we may pause ski pass sales depending on resort capacity, particularly during peak season. This is usually determined by our operations team, and sales are temporarily halted if needed,” the press office explained.
The press office also explained the weather conditions under which skiing and snowboarding are prohibited.
“Riding is not allowed during extreme weather conditions. For instance, last year at Talgar Pass, the temperature dropped to -37°C, leading to the closure of the slopes at Left Talgar and Combi-2. Similarly, such decisions may be made during heavy fog, which often affects Left Talgar. It is closed when visibility is poor,” the press office stated.
