“Teenager’s Day-2011” was held at Astana square (New Square) in Almaty on the first Saturday of August, Tengrinews.kz reports. School students could “test-drive” such jobs, as firefighter, rescuer, ER doctor, policeman and many others. The total of 20 jobs were presented. A whole polygon was constructed for children. It contained tens of units of special vehicles. Anyone could try out overalls of water rescuer or doctor’s gown. Despite of the heat, the teenagers eagerly tried heavy ammunition. They were also able to check out special vehicles by getting into fire engines or mobile intensive care units. Representatives of “super-jobs” demonstrated their skills, told stories from their experience and held master-classes. Fire team helped fight the heat by pouring water from a hydrant. During breaks students took part in different competitions, including a break-battle that gathered around 40 young dancers on the stage. The fest finished with a gala-concert of bands from Kazakhstan and Russia. Famous Kazakhstan rapper Takezhan became a headliner of the show. Annual celebration of the “Teenager’s Day” started last year, when around 5 thousand school students gathered on Astana square. They danced break, drew graffiti and held a skate-show.
