It’s been reported that he plans to stay in Astana for a while to show his audience both the capital of Kazakhstan and behind-the-scenes moments from the Silk Way Star show.

Who is Yazmin Aziz?

Yazmin Aziz is a Malaysian-Filipina singer and songwriter known for her participation in Bakat Ohsem Malaysia, World Championship of Performing Arts, and Karaoke World Championship, where she won gold and silver medals. She has performed on TV shows such as Big Stage and Lagu Cinta Kita, and her songs have charted on Hitz Met10 and Rakita. In addition to her solo career, she recorded the anthem “Kita Rockstar” for the 2022 Mobile Legends Professional League.

This summer, it was announced that Yazmin would represent Malaysia at Silk Way Star. The competition features representatives from 12 countries. The project is part of a partnership between the TV & Radio Complex of the President of Kazakhstan and China Media Group (CMG).

What is known about Silk Way Star

Silk Way Star consists of 10 episodes: 9 pre-recorded shows and a grand finale broadcast live. Viewers can expect unique duets, performances of national hits, cross-cultural collaborations, and emotional stories from the participants. Each episode runs over 100 minutes and will be broadcast in Kazakh, Chinese, and English.

Voting will follow an international system with an open points tally from 1 to 12. In the first nine episodes, decisions will be made by a panel of professional judges from China and Central Asian countries. In the grand finale, the winner will be determined by a 50/50 combination of jury and audience votes.
