The oldest bride who registered her marriage in Kazakhstan in 2011 was 90-y.o. and the oldest groom was 86-y. o., Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to the Registration and Legal Assistance Committee of the Ministry of Justice. However, the Committee hasn't mentioned the fiance's and fiancee's age of the 90-y.o. bride and 86-y.o. groom. The average fiances' age made 25-32 y.o. and an average fiancee's age made 25-28 y.o in 2011. In 2010 the oldest groom was a 98 y.o. and bride was 92 y.o. And the average fiances' age was 25-30-y.o. and fiancees' age was 25-28-y.o. in 2010. The highest average fiance's age of 30 years was recorded in East Kazakhstan in 2011. The highest index of fiancee's age was 28 years and it was registered in Karaganda oblast. The youngest fiances lived in Mangistau oblast (25 years) and the youngest fiancees - in Southern Kazakhstan oblast (21 years). The most mature grooms and brides were recorded in Karaganda oblast in 2010 (33 and 30-year old correspondingly). The age of the youngest marriageable women and men in 2010 was the same as in 2011. The youngest fiances and fiancees were 17-18-y.o. and 16-y.o. correspondingly. There were no cases of marriages between persons under 16-y.o., the Ministry's of Justice officials said. The marriage between persons under 16-y.o. is allowed only with a written consent of the parents or trustees, according to Kazakhstan Marriage Law. The same rules apply when one of the fiances who wish to be registered is under the marriageable age.
