As the old saying goes “man’s best friend”, a toddler was saved by a mongrel dog in a forest in Akmola Oblast in central Kazakhstan, Tengrinews reports.
On June 10, 2 y.o. Madina disappeared from her house. After a frantic search her father reported his daughter’s disappearance to the local police station three hours later.
According to the parents, little Madina was playing with a dog in the front of the house while her mother was working in the garden. When parents noticed the girl’s disappearance they started looking for her but to no avail. After that, the Burabai District Department of the Interior Affairs sent a crew to search for the girl. At around 6 am, policemen found little Madina asleep and hugging the dog in the forest, 500 meters away from her house.
Arman Aizhanov, Madina’s father told Tengrinews that the dog has started coming to their house some time ago. “It is a stray dog. It comes and goes as it pleases. We don’t even know the dog’s name. We feed the dog when it comes to our house. It seems that it got used to us,” the father said.
Aizhanov believes that it might have been the dog’s maternal instincts that made it stay with the girl and warm her during the night's chill.
“It was cold during the night, and my daughter was not wearing very warm clothing. That's why I think it was the dog keeping her warm all night,” Aizhanov said.
Little Madina is back home. According to her father, the little girl is feeling good. “When we returned home she took my mobile phone and asked she wanted to play a balloon game. Then I realized that she was alright,” he said.
Now the family will surely keep a close eye on the adventurous little girl. As for the dog, the father jokingly said that it run away to rescue someone else.
