Kostanay is the most feminine city of Kazakhstan, Ranking.kz writes. Women make 55.2 percent of the population in Kostanay. Ranking.kz made a list of 84 Kazakhstan cities and towns rating them by the men/women ratio of their population. Astana is ranked 53rd with 51.7 percent of women and Almaty is in the 7th place in the list of Ranking.kz with 54.4 percent of women. Kostanay’s population makes almost 219 thousand people, including 121 thousand women and 98 thousand men. The top five cities of Kazakhstan also include Petropavlovsk, Ust-Kamenogorsk, Pavlodar and Uralsk. The cities with almost equal number of men and women are Shalkar (75th) and Aralsk (76th). Shalkar has 26 more women than men, while Aralsk has 27 more men. Only 8 of 84 Kazakhstan’s towns included in the rating have more men than women. The “manly” towns include Usharal, Saryagash, Zhetyssai, Fort-Shevchenko, Arys, Temir and Shardara. The least number of women is registered in Kazalinsk (Kyzylorda oblast): 48 percent.
