A Kazakhstan traveler will carry an EXPO-2017 flag around the world, Tengrinews reports citing Sapar Iskakov, 73, the traveler. The expedition will start on January 10, 2014 from London. The Kazakhstan national is going to visit the United States, South Korea, China, Vietnam, Singapore, Malaysia, India, the UAE, Egypt, Italy, Spain, Portugal and some other countries. His journey list includes a total of 26 countries. The journey will end on May 10, 2014, also in London. Sapar Iskakov will make the world cruise together with his granddaughter, a journalist and an cameraman who will make a film about the journey. Visiting each country, Sapar Iskakov will be carrying a flag of the international exhibition EXPO 2017. According to him, the Foreign Ministry of Kazakhstan will assist in arranging meetings for Iskakov to speak about Kazakhstan, Astana and the forthcoming exhibition. Sapar Iskakov will travel at his own expenses and has chosen not to disclose the cost of the journey. "The financial aspect is not important; we should be more interested in the economic and political resonance of this journey and especially in promotion of the EXPO-2017. If I succeed in attracting at least one tourist from Costa Rica or Papua New Guinea to Kazakhstan, I will contribute to development of tourism and promotion of our country’s image," Sapar Iskakov said. According to Iskakov, he is healthy enough to make this trip. Sapar Iskakov has already bisited more than 100 different countries and have seeing every single continent in the world. He has planted a Kazakhstan flag at the South and North Poles when he traveled there as part of an international group. He has also made a flight to the stratosphere to the height of 22 000 meters. He is funding a range of expeditions around Kazakhstan, to Middle East, Mongolia, North Africa and Europe. Sapar Iskakov has been awarded with the Person of the Year title three times.
