What is the best way to deliver a message of peace? How do you tell the world “Good will knows no boundaries”? There are many ways. An Indian film director and avid traveller Lal Jose chose an exciting one. Along with his two friends, Suresh Joseph, ex-General Manager of Dubai Ports and Baiju N Nair, an automobile journalist, decided to deliver the message literally while driving across two continents, crossing 27 countries and covering 24,000 kilometers in 75 days.

"This is perhaps the biggest challenge in our life. We are planning to travel through 27 countries, approximately 24,000 km, which include Nepal, China, Kyrgyzstan, Kazakhstan, Russia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Belgium, France, Ireland and UK,” Suresh Joseph told to The Times of India.

The three friends are travelling through Kazakhstan right now. They entered Kazakhstan from Kyrgyzstan and will visit Shymkent, Kyzylorda, Aralsk, Aktobe and Uralsk while crossing Kazakhstan from south to west along M-32 highway on July 15-19. Their route in Kazakhstan is almost 2,500 km long. After Kazakhstan they will held for Russia.

The adventurists noted that every country that they will travel to has a Mahatma Gandi road or square and they are planning to visit these places.

They are motivated to learn about new lands and places, to meet new people and experience cultures and cuisines. But as exciting as it is, the travellers will face a number of obstacles on their way.

“Challenges are plenty. (…) Border crossings, accommodation, language, dealing with multiple currencies and driving a right hand drive vehicle on the right side of the road are the other set of challenges,” Joseph said.

Upon their return, Lal Jose and his friends will write a book about their 75-day travel across two continents.

“The trip will be documented in many ways. The varied moods of the journey will be visualized using a GoPro camera mounted on the vehicle. We will document the main Roads in all these countries,” Lal Jose said.

While people dream of countries and adventures, there are some people that just make their dreams come true. Lal Jose is certainly one of them.
