Tengrinews.kz – President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, at the XII summit of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), proposed the creation of a Cybersecurity Council, citing the Akorda press service.

The President praised the unique role and potential of the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA) in promoting stability, security, and peace across Turkic states.

"I sincerely thank the Azerbaijani side, as well as all Turkic countries, for supporting the transformation of CICA into a full-fledged international organization. Turkic states share a common goal — strengthening security and countering various challenges, including terrorism — and we have established successful cooperation in this regard. We consistently support initiatives to maintain global security. However, we cannot stop at what has been achieved," Tokayev said.

The President noted that many countries have faced cyberattacks — a new threat without borders.

"I propose establishing a Cybersecurity Council within the Organization of Turkic States to coordinate actions and mobilize our countries’ efforts. The Council will also promote digital security development and strengthen ties in this area. The results of the conference held in Almaty this September on this topic once again confirmed the importance of enhancing cybersecurity cooperation," Tokayev added.

President Tokayev arrived at the congress center in Gabala today to participate in the XII OTS summit.
