Tengrinews.kz — The President of the Fédération Cynologique Internationale (FCI), Tamas Jakkel, during his visit to Astana thanked the President of Kazakhstan for his personal attention to the preservation and development of national dog breeds, citing Akorda.
Tamas Jakkel arrived in Kazakhstan for the first time on an official visit and noted the country’s significant contribution to the development of cynology.
“It is a great honor for me to meet with Mr. President. We had a very constructive and friendly conversation. I explained how important it is to support a kennel club that is a member of the FCI, since our federation operates as a franchise system: any documents and pedigrees issued by us are recognized as valid in 100 countries across all five continents. We also discussed the Kazakh breed Tazy, which was recognized by the FCI two years ago,” said the head of the International Cynological Federation, Tamas Jakkel.
He noted that he was the judge who first awarded the World Winner title to a representative of this breed last year in Helsinki.
“It was a major event. I am proud of the result, considering the tremendous work carried out by the Union of Cynologists of Kazakhstan. Indeed, it was a long journey that required a lot of effort. I also learned that the President of Kazakhstan has Tazy dogs at home. I was also shown a beautiful garden in Akorda, where a sculpture of a Tazy is installed. Each breed, including the Tazy, is part of the national cultural heritage. I am very pleased that this breed has allowed Kazakhstan to take a достойное place in the global cynological community,” said Tamas Jakkel.
He emphasized the importance of state support for specialists in this field.
“I also asked Mr. President to support your specialists. If a politician or President supports quality, it benefits all citizens of the country. I sincerely hope to get to know your wonderful country better and take with me even more good memories. This weekend, I will be a judge at an international dog show. I have never seen 60 Kazakh Tazy dogs at the same time before, so I am really looking forward to this event,” said the head of the International Cynological Federation.
It should be noted that on April 30, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev received Tamas Jakkel in Akorda. During the meeting, the parties discussed prospects for cooperation with the international federation in the development of domestic dog breeding and the preservation of a sustainable breed gene pool.
