Tengrinews.kz — The Moldovan authorities have recommended canceling events involving Nurlan Saburov. This was announced by the country’s Ministry of Culture on its official Facebook page.
What happened
The matter concerns several planned events featuring foreign performers. In addition to Saburov, the ministry’s statement also mentions Diana Arbenina and Oleg Vinnik. In the published statement, Moldova’s Ministry of Culture said it considers holding these events inappropriate.
“The organizers of these events have already been informed of the results of the assessment. They have been advised to terminate any contractual relations with these artists in order to avoid situations that could lead to a ban on their entry into the country and, as a consequence, the cancellation of the events,” the statement says.
At the same time, the ministry did not specify the exact reasons why Nurlan Saburov, in particular, was included on this list.
“The Ministry reminds cultural institutions and organizers that they are responsible for carefully assessing public resonance and possible risks associated with invited artists. The Ministry once again reaffirms its position: the cultural space must remain a territory of dialogue, freedom, and artistic self-expression,” the agency noted.
Earlier, the ministry sent a special circular to state cultural institutions and event organizers asking them to notify the authorities in advance about plans to cooperate with foreign performers, especially those from CIS countries.
It should be recalled that at the beginning of April, Saburov was on tour in China. The concert in Guangzhou took place, but the performance in Shanghai was canceled. The organizers said this was due to reasons beyond their control.
