Tengrinews.kz - Minister of Digital Development, Innovations and Aerospace Industry Zhaslan Madiyev advised Kazakhstanis to refrain from using VPN if they have problems accessing TikTok.

According to the official, responsibility for TikTok's operation in Kazakhstan lies with the Ministry of Culture and Information, and not with the Ministry of Digital Development, Innovation, and Aerospace Industry.

"When a VPN is used, we believe that, on the contrary, we complicate the work of the company, in particular TikTok. Why? Because then the IP address is substituted and moderators of Kazakh-language and Russian-language content are not able to quickly detect traffic that does not comply with the law, that is, which is subject to moderation," Madiyev said on the sidelines of the Mazhilis.

He added that in the event of interruptions in TikTok's operation, the Kazakh side is negotiating with representatives of this platform.

"As for traffic regulation, as I said, this is the responsibility of the Ministry of Culture and Information. We do not see any problems with the Internet that would somehow affect TikTok's activities," the minister concluded.
