Tengrinews.kz – Singer Dimash Kudaibergen has announced the release of the documentary film Before the Applause, dedicated to the journey toward one of the most significant events in his career — his solo concert at Madison Square Garden in New York.

What the film is about

Before the Applause will be released ahead of his new concert tour. The teaser for the film tells the story of preparations for the performance, which took place on October 5, 2025: Dimash presented his Stranger show on the stage of Madison Square Garden, becoming the first Kazakh artist to perform at one of the world’s most famous concert venues.

According to reports, viewers will see memories shared by the performer himself, as well as by his team and family. The project’s creators promise to show not only the concert itself, but also the story of the many-year journey that led to this event.

Stranger tour

As a reminder, shortly before the concert, the artist himself spoke about the significance of the upcoming performance and the responsibility he felt before stepping onto the legendary stage.

“This is a huge responsibility, but instead of frightening me, it inspires me to move forward. At the same time, we take on the role of cultural ambassadors — we had a unique chance to win people’s hearts on another continent on such a legendary stage,” Dimash said in an interview with Tmrw Magazine ahead of the concert.

The concert at Madison Square Garden marked the beginning of the global leg of the Stranger tour and drew a full house of spectators from different countries.

“The performance at Madison Square Garden became an important milestone in the artist’s creative journey and a reflection of many years of work, professional growth and the realization of a big dream,” the film’s creators noted.

The program included both well-known compositions and new works. The artist performed the national anthem of Kazakhstan, presented his original song “Samgau,” and also performed Love’s Not Over Yet accompanied by its author, two-time Grammy Award winner Walter Afanasieff.

The documentary is expected to allow fans and viewers to see the events that preceded the large-scale show, as well as learn more about the people who accompanied the artist on his path to one of the most notable performances of his career.
