Tengrinews.kz – The Bureau of National Statistics has published data on the median and average monthly salaries in Kazakhstan.
The average nominal monthly salary in Kazakhstan (excluding small businesses engaged in entrepreneurial activity) in the fourth quarter of 2025 amounted to 473,158 tenge. It is noted that over the quarter the average salary increased by 10.2 percent.
Average salary by region
The highest average salary was recorded in Astana — 659,610 tenge, as well as in the Mangystau region — 658,762 tenge and the Ulytau region — 648,620 tenge.
In Almaty, the average salary amounted to 601,126 tenge, and in Shymkent — 364,034 tenge.
The lowest figures were recorded in the Zhetysu region (349,593 tenge), as well as in the Zhambyl (335,794 tenge) and Turkestan (324,229 tenge) regions.

According to the bureau, the increase in the average salary in the fourth quarter of 2025 was due to an increase in the payroll fund as a result of additional year-end payments and holiday bonuses.
Median salary in Kazakhstan
The median salary (the central level of the salary distribution) in Kazakhstan for the fourth quarter of 2025 amounted to 339,912 tenge.
It was also noted that in the third quarter of 2025 the average salary in Kazakhstan was 429,368 tenge, and the median salary was 302,584 tenge.
