Tengrinews.kz – A truck carrying yogurt overturned in the Mangystau region, after which the driver handed out the remaining undamaged products to local residents, according to Lada.kz.
A video from the scene went viral on December 14. It shows an overturned truck at the 64th railway siding near the village of Borankul. Witnesses say the accident happened because of severe icy conditions on the road. After the crash, the driver reportedly asked locals for help and began giving away the yogurt that survived the accident for free.
The Mangystau regional police confirmed the accident. According to officials, the crash occurred on December 7 at around 2:20 p.m. on the Beineu–Borankul highway.
Police said the Scania truck driver lost control on a slippery road, causing the vehicle to overturn. No one was injured, and no medical assistance was needed.
The driver was fined 78,640 tenge for violating traffic rules.
Why the yogurt was given away
Police noted that the distribution of yogurt may have been agreed with the cargo owner. The product is perishable, some of the packaging was damaged, and the shelf life was limited.
