Tengrinews.kz — Cases of illegal export of fuels and lubricants using vehicles equipped with additional fuel tanks continue to be detected in Kazakhstan. Details were reported by the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

To ensure control near road checkpoints across the state border, 59 police posts are operating. Officers, together with representatives of other government agencies, inspect vehicles crossing the border.

Since the beginning of the year, police have identified 255 vehicles with illegally installed additional fuel tanks.

“All violators were brought to administrative responsibility under Part 7 of Article 590 of the Code of Administrative Offenses. Among them were 195 foreign citizens and 60 citizens of Kazakhstan,” the ministry said.

Note: Drivers operating a vehicle that has been modified without the relevant permit face a fine of 15 MCI, or about 65,000 tenge in 2026.

After the illegally installed fuel tanks were dismantled, the vehicles were returned to their owners.

The Ministry of Internal Affairs reminded that the illegal export of fuels and lubricants is under special control, and all such violations will be identified and stopped in a timely manner.
