Subaru, Hyundai and BMW are going to get listed in the Kazakhstan customs registry of intellectual property, Tengrinews.kz reports citing PR-manager of Astana Motors Aleksandra Shikleyeva. Astana Motors represents 7 car brands in the Kazakhstan market. "The mission of Astana Motors is to build up civilized car market in Kazakhstan. Today our mission calls for introducing changes into the work of the official dealers in terms of protection of the manufacturers' intellectual property to ensure protection of our clients from counterfeits and forgery. Astana Motors represents such brands as Subaru, Hyundai, BMW (it is an official distributor of Subaru and Hyundai and official importer of BMW and MINI) in Kazakhstan and is currently negotiating with the manufacturers on registration in Kazakhstan customs registry," Shikleyeva said. Toyota and Lexus have already got into the customs registry of intellectual property. Now the customs officers will admit only the spare parts imported to Kazakhstan by official dealers or sellers who have the permit from the authorized agents of the car companies. According to Director General of Blue Star Kazakhstan Kairat Beisebayev, this way car companies will be able to protect Kazakhstan market from counterfeit spare parts and cars that are non adapted for Kazakhstan's conditions. Mercedes-Benz has also announced its intention to get into the registry. By Daniyar Bozov
