Almaty Road policemen will learn to render basic medical aid to persons injured in road traffic accidents, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing the head of Almaty Health Department Roza Kuanyshbekova. She announced this in her report on implementation of 2011-2015 Salamatty Kazakhstan state-run healthcare program and the tasks assigned for 2012 in a meeting with participation of Kazakhstan Minister of Health Salidat Kairbekova. “We have agreed with Almaty city Department of Internal Affairs that we would arrange trainings for our policemen who arrive to road traffic accident sites. They get there first, even earlier than medical personnel does. (…) One part of policemen will be trained to render basic medical aid,” Kuanyshbekova said about the top-priority tasks set for 2012. Besides this some more strategic tasks were assigned by the Ministry of Health for the current year. They are: medical personnel development, integration of experience of foreign countries in Kazakhstan, training of personnel in the use of innovative technologies. Training in kidney transplantation and liver transplantation surgeries is scheduled as the next stage, according to Kuanyshbekova.
