8-year old Kazakhstan chess-player Bibisara Assaubayeva will compete in the Championship among schoolchildren that will take place in Romania in April this year, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Liana Tanzherikova, the chess-player's mother. “We won the gold medal by winning all the games of the tournament last year. We will do all our best to come first this year as well. This year could be more difficult, because Bibisara will compete in the 9 y.o. age group and this means that all her rivals will be a year older that her,” Tanzharikova said. Assaubayeva was awarded with Sports Breakthrough of the Year prize as part of the Sportsman of the Year National Contest in 2011. She won a gold medal in Brazilian World Championship along with another Kazakhstan chess-player: 11-y.o. Zhansaya Abdumalik. Assaubayeva’s professional career in details are available here.
