4.2-magnitude earthquake hit Almaty oblast on February 19, 2012 at 11:23 a.m., Tengrinews.kz reports, referring to Kazakhstan Center for Collection and Processing of Seismic Information of the Institute of Geophysical Research of the National Nuclear Center. The quake's epicenter was 41 km to the northwest from Almaty and 26 km from Otegen Batyr village. No casualties or distraction have been reported.
