Kazakhstan’s PM Karim Massimov is concerned over the January 2012 sluggish economy growth, Tengrinews.kz reports from the Government sitting February 14. “Unfortunately, we see the economic growth slowing down to 4.8% in January. Should we have a closer look, we see the industrial growth also slowing down”, PM Massimov said addressing to the Minister of Economic Development and Trade Bakytzhan Sagintayev, instructing him “to analyze the underlying reasons [of the slowdown] so that we could understand what measures to take to secure the 7% growth – the target set by President Nazarbayev”. “The Ministry of Economic Development and Trade is the major economic tool of the Government. The experts with the Ministry need to once again analyze the global trends, analyze the national industrialization roadmap to make sure we are not building industrial enterprises that will have to stay idle later on (…)”, PM Massimov said.
