Kazakhstan figure skating professional Denis Ten said that he would change Kazakhstan citizenship under no circumstances, Tengrinews.kz reported. “I am a patriot of Kazakhstan. I love my country frantically. I have already visited many countries and journalists frequently ask me what is the best country to live in. I always answer that Kazakhstan is the best place. I will never change Kazakhstan citizenship,” the figure skater said. Denis also told that recent trainings in the U.S. have advanced him to a new level. The skater performed very successfully in Zagreb and Turkey this December owing to these trainings. “It was an unexpected victory in Turkey. I was training intensively before Zagreb competition where I competed before the Istanbul Cup and didn't plan to go to Turkey afterwards. Frankly speaking, I was tired before the competition. There was a mistake in my short program when I was making a quadruple toe loop, however, everything went perfect in the free skating program. I think it was my best performance in this season,” Ten said. At the present time the skater plans to take part in two big competitions: the Four Continent Figure Skating Championship that will be held in the U.S. on February 7-12, and the Nice World Championship that will take place in France on March 26 – April 1. “I have been changing my program frequently during this year. Now it is more conventional. My task is to perform well it now. There will be quadruple toe loops in the U.S. and France in both programs for certain. I am not setting a concrete goal, but I will do all my best,” the skater said. The sportsman will celebrate the New Year with his family in Kazakhstan. “I have seldom seen my family recently. When I am at home, I try to spend all time with my family,” Ten added.
