Kazakhstan President Nursultan Nazarbayev is against military actions towards Iran, Interfax-Kazakhstan writes. “I think that there is no military method for solving the problem, as this may cause big developments for the whole world and for Iran first of all,” he said in Moscow. Nazarbayev stressed that he is a supporter of the “diplomatic approach”. “There have been many sanctions against Iran, but Iran is still living and working,” he pointed out. “As for Iranian nuclear program, I support the idea of continuing the diplomatic work,” Kazakhstan President stressed. He is also against double standard policy. “Speaking of Iranian nuclear program, why are we not talking about the case in Pakistan, when the nuclear weapons were made? Why are we not talking about Israel, that actually has nuclear weapons? There have been no restrictions or international treaties applied to them. There shouldn't be any asymmetry here,” Nazarbayev said. He reminded the statements of Tehran about peaceful nature of Iranian nuclear program. “Iran is saying that it is working on atoms for peace, not hiding anything, letting the IAEA in,” Kazakhstan President reminded. “The IAEA has recently said that everything is clear there, but now the IAEA is saying that there are some hidden affairs going on in Iran. All that sounds doubtful,” he said. “That's why it is necessary to continue negotiations and request Iran to let the IAEA inspectors see all the facilities so that they can prove to the whole world that Iran is indeed working peacefully,” Nazarbayev said.
