Grand-prix of the 9th national Internet-award Award.kz-2011 was given to Tengrinews.kz that works 24/7. The website's main competitors were horde.kz and idrive.kz Tengrinews.kz also won Award-2011 in Mass Media nomination. Second place was given to voxpopulli.kz and bnews.kz was the third. Awarding ceremony of Award-2011 was held in Retro Shlyager club. The ceremony was hosted by Alisher Yelikbayev and Anna Ossipova. Organizers said that the total number of contestants of the Award who filed their applications made 949 and 819 participants were allowed for participation. The main criterion for websites selection were design, usability, content and interactivity, functionality and technology, marketing effectiveness. Tengrinews.kz also won in the nominations Best Website or Application for Mobile Phones (for development of an application for iPad) and Discovery of the Year-2011.
