January – August foreign trade turnover announced

Kazakhstan’s foreign trade turnover in January-August 2011 made up $79.668 billion, 38% up against the like period of 2010, the State Agency for Statistics reported. Exports for the period made up $56.707, 45.6 % up, with imports making up $22.96 billion (22.3% up). Dina Mamasheva, Vice Chairperson of the Customs Control Committee of the Finance Ministry, had told at a press-conference October 13 that trade turnover of Kazakhstan with the Customs Union member states from July 1, 2010 to July 1, 2011 reached $ 23 billion, 50% up as compared to June 1, 2009-June 1, 2010. Earlier Tengrinews.kz reported that Kazakhstan’s Ministry of Economy Development and Trade had raised estimated 2011 exports, including through growing prices for oil: “2011 exports will make up $76.3 billion, $17.2 billon up against the earlier estimate”, Minister Kelimbetov said mid-September.
