Mariya Grabovetskaya, the bronze prize winner of the Olympics Games in Beijing, will skip the World Championship, that will take place in Paris on November 5-13, Tengrinews.kz reports, citing Alexey Ni, the national team's head coach. “She's got a knee injury, or, rather, a setback of an old knee injury. Now she is undergoing a medical examination and won't be able to compete at the championship. However, we still have some time before the Olympics. It is essential for her to rehabilitate completely,” Ni said. Also the coach said that the team was training for Almaty championship. Ilya Ilyin, the winner of Beijing Olympics is training individually in Astana. “The Weight-lifting Federation administration allowed him to prepare on his own,” the coach added. Ni also deflated the rumors that Chinese Jan Wei would join Kazakhstan national team in the nearest future. “He performed at the People's Spartakiad of Kazakhstan outside the competition program, as well as two Kyrgyz sportsmen. We don't plan to invite the sportsman into the team,” he said. The national team for the Olympics was defined at the Spartakiad, that took place in mid September in Taldykorgan. Svetlana Podobedova has set a new world record by lifting the total of 297 kilos. The national team's coaches expects the team to gain nine Olympics spots in France.
