Launch of Kazakhstan communication satellite KazSat-3 is scheduled for the end of 2013, Interfax-Kazakhstan reports citing general constructor, director of Reshetnev Information Satellite Systems (ISS) Nikolay Testoedov. Testoedov reminded that the contract with Kazkosmos (Kazakhstan Space Agency) was signed on June 20 at air and space exhibition in Le Bourget, France. Subcontract with Thales Alenia Space was signed the same day for production of residual load elements. “We are sure that KazSat-3 launch period will be met,” ISS general constructor said. New satellite KazSat-3 is being created on the base of Express-1000N platform made by ISS. First Kazakhstan satellite KazSat was manufactured by Russian Khrunichev Center. It was launched on June 18, 2006 from Baikonur cosmodrome, but on June 8, 2008 it stopped working because of failure in control system. прервал работу.
