2 people trapped in coal mine in Karaganda oblast

There was a sudden release of gas and coal in the working face of the upper level air gate 38K10-B in Kuzembayev coal mine in Saran near Karaganda at 04:53 a.m., KazTAG reports. According to the Emergencies Ministry, 5 people were working in the level at the time of the blast. Three of them walk to the top on their own, two are still trapped: lead shaftman-engineer, 46, and mining-extraction machines operator, 54. There were 107 people working in the overall mine at the moment. All of them have made it safely to the surface. All the operations in the mine have been halted, the Emergencies Ministry says.
