Starting from August 25 a moratorium on changes in import duties and on changes in the unified nomenclature of goods will be in place at the territory of the Customs Union in Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan. This decision was made by the Customs Union Commission , Interfax-Kazakhstan reports. Until August 25 the Customs Union Commission will be reviewing proposals on adjustment of import duties that can come into effect on or before September 1. The list of goods that will have their import duties changed is expected to be approved on August 16. The new customs tariffs project should been approved by the customs authorities of Russia, Belarus and Kazakhstan before October 25. The deadline for official publication of the new unified nomenclature of goods is November 30. The unified nomenclature of goods that is currently in effect came into force on January 1, 2010. Before that Russia and Kazakhstan had their own national nomenclatures and their rates differed.
