Gennady Golovkin (33-0, 30 KOs), WBA Super, IBO and WBC Interim middleweight champion has taken part in the final press conference with the IBF titleholder David Lemieux  (34-2, 31 KOs) in New York, Tengrinews reports.

"Good afternoon, I am happy to be here again. Madison Square Garden is like my second home. I want to thank my team and my family for this opportunity," Golovkin said at the press conference. He also thanked his promotion company and HBO for the PPV fight at the Madison Square Garden.

"I know I came a long way to get here. I am not going to stand up here and talk about training camp, I am sure Golovkin and I know that at our level we are going to be at our best selves. I have faced victories, defeats, but nothing is more exciting and more gratifying than victory such as I am planning on Saturday," Lemieux said in turn.

Traditionally, the biggest middleweight knockouters faced off at the press conference before the journalists. In addition, Golovkin and Lemiuex had a weight-in. Golovkin showed 159.4 lb, while Lemieux had 159.8 lb.

The exictment level was high. The Golovkin-Lemieux fight was totally sold out, according to Triple G’s manager Tom Loeffler from K2 Promotions.

Golovkin's trainer Abel Sanchez promised an exciting fight.

"(David) is a dangerous puncher, he's a dangerous guy. He's the kind of guy, similar to Golovkin that the fans really want to see. He's going to put on the kind of fights that we as fans have been expected about and want to see," Sanchez added via Badlefthook.com.

Yet, Sanchez was more than confident in his fighter and did not see Lemieux as the biggest puncher Golovkin had faced so far. "I think Lemieux is the biggest threat we've fought so far. Not necessarily the biggest puncher, I think Curtis may have been the bigger puncher. But David has reenergized himself," the trainer said. Trainer Sanchez praised Marc Ramsay, Lemieux's current coach for the work he had done with the Canadian boxer.

"I think it's a Hagler-Hearns kind of fight, three or four rounds, balls out," Sanchez concluded.

Forbes said that Golovkin could be the one to push past the Mayweather era in boxing.

Indeed, there was no doubt that Golovkin would deliver his promised Big Drama Show. In turn, for underdog Lemieux, his recently won IBF title and a chance to fight the winner of Cotto-Alvarez were at stake. So, the fight again could become Golovkin's first step towards become the No. 1 in the sport.

Tripe G faced Lemieux on October 17 at Madison Square Garden for the title unification fight. The fight was broadcast by Kazakhstan channel at 6:55 am by Astana’s time on October 18.
