President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev has sent a telegram of condolences to Russian President Vladimir Putin over the recent terrorist attacks in Volgograd city, Tengrinews reports citing the press-service of Akorda. The telegram says that Nursultan Nazarbayev was deeply grieved by the news of the tragedy that caused so many victims. "Kazakhstan's President expressed his deep condolences and support to the victim’s families, relatives and friends, and his commiseration to the Russian nation," the message says. The President of Kazakhstan stressed that the people of Kazakhstan condemned all kinds of violence and manifestations of terrorism and called the global community to step up cooperation in the fight against this evil. The tragedy was acknowledged a terrorist attack and a criminal case was initiated. Health ministry spokesman Oleg Salagai told Russian state television that 14 people were killed in the trolleybus bombing and 28 were wounded. The day before, on December 29, there was another explosion at a railway station in Volgograd city, when a female suicide bomber blew herself up. A Volgograd government spokesman later told the state-run RIA Novosti news agency that at least 18 people were killed and more than 40 injured in the attack.
